The museum, named after US Army General Patton, invites visitors to discover life in Ettelbruck during the frightening years of WWII.

Exhibit honours General Georg S. Patton jr, commander of the 3rd US-Army, and Colonel Lansing McVickar’s whose troops liberated Ettelbruck on December 25th 1944, as well as the “Remembrance Day“ festivities held in Ettelbruck for over 50 years in commemoration of the liberation from the Nazis. Various rooms exhibit military items and aircraft remains.

The museum treasures education through pictures, artefacts, documents and other items covering the time of Nazi occupation. This includes Nazi propaganda, stories about everyday life in Ettelbruck and its surroundings, collaboration, deportation, and the oppression of the Jewish community. The museum also highlights the resistance movements and a few known individuals like Yvon Kerger, a driving force in uniting resistance groups around Ettelbruck and Frankie Hansen, a deportee, later „Silver Star“ honored participant in US Army operations.
